Jude Law is nothing if not committed to his roles.
The Hollywood star recently opened up at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival panel about the lengths he went through to in order to most authentically inhabit his role as King Henry VIII.
He revealed that he made a special, very stinky perfume for the character, mixing a special scent with puss, blood, fecal matter and sweat. It was specially made by a British perfumer for Jude for the film Firebrand.
Jude joked at the panel:
“I thought it would have a great impact if I smelled awful.
Because you could smell (the real) Henry three rooms away.”
His co-star Alicia Vikander hilariously added:
“Every camera operator was hurling. Jude, you were really wonderfully terrifying!”
