Tension behind the scenes of It Ends With Us has continually been making its way into the spotlight, with a leaked voice message from Justin Baldoni to Blake Lively now revealing the story behind their creative clash.
The two reportedly butted heads over the film’s iconic rooftop scene, leading to a meeting where Blake—joined by her husband Ryan Reynolds and best friend Taylor Swift—advocated for her version of the scene. After the discussion, Justin sent Blake a nearly seven-minute voice message at 2 a.m., which has now surfaced online.
In the message, Justin acknowledges his mistakes, saying: “I’m really sorry. I f–ked up. I will admit and apologize when I fail. I’m a very flawed man, as my wife will attest.”
He also praised Blake’s support system: “Damn right, you got great friends. If that’s how you felt, and they knew that—f–k. We should all have friends like that… The three of you guys together is unbelievable. Talk about energy. Force. All three of you.”
Throughout the voicemail, Justin expresses regret, reflects on his shortcomings, and reassures Blake that he values their creative partnership. “All I have to say is, I’m really looking forward to spending time together and I believe that’s going to go a long way for our chemistry.”
The apology also touched on Blake’s past experiences in the industry. “There’s one thing that I do need to say, which is, I am so sorry you have been through what you’ve been through with these other filmmakers and producers… It just pissed me off.”
Justin closed the message on a warm note, sending love to Blake’s family: “I’m sorry, you probably have kids all over you and a baby on your boob, and you’re listening to me ramble at 2 in the morning. I hope you’re feeling better and give Ryan my love.”
Whether the leaked message will spark more drama or smooth things over remains to be seen—but one thing’s for sure, the It Ends With Us set has been anything but boring!
