A Young Hollywood couple has gone their separate ways.
Kaia Gerber and Jacob Elordi have reportedly ended their relationship. The split comes after over a year of being together.
A source confirmed the news, saying:
“It was a completely amicable split. They’re just going their separate ways now.”
Another source dished about the break up, stating:
“Their schedules conflicted, they weren’t spending much time together. It seemed like they were going backward instead of forward and that’s why it wasn’t working.”
The 20-year-old model and 24-year-old actor have been linked since September of last year after the two were first photographed together having dinner at Nobu in Malubi and holding hands in NYC. At the time, a source dished that the pair were “newly seeing each other.” Later that month, they seemed to take things to the next level by going on vacation with Kaia’s parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.
The former couple confirmed their relationship the next month when they were spotted kissing in October 2020. An insider said back then: “Kaia is having a lot of fun with Jacob. Her family thinks he is a stand-up guy and a breath of fresh air.”
Kaia and Jacob went Instagram official in November 2020.
The two kept their relationship private and low-key all throughout, with another source revealing back in April 2021:
“They’re not rushing into anything serious like an engagement. They’re young and want to experience life together. They’re lovers and also best friends. They’re always together when they don’t have work commitments… It’s actually crazy how much they have in common – it was like the universe brought them together!”
In her June/July 2021 Vogue cover story, Kaia made a rare comment about her relationship with Jacob. Here’s what she said:
“Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibility of love and what it feels like to love without conditions.
Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone.”
Kaia and Jacob went red-carpet official just in September, appearing together at The Academy of Motion Pictures Opening Gala in LA.
Kaia previously dated Pete Davidson from October 2019 to January 2020 and was linked to Cole Sprouse in April of the same year. Jacob dated Joey King from 2017 to 2018 and Zendaya in 2020.
