Could Kanye West be expanding his Yeezy empire to get some skin in the beauty game?
According to TMZ, Ye filed for the for a Yeezy trademark to cover a bunch of beauty and skincare products – makeup, moisturizers, bath gels, body oils, shaving cream, hair care products and perfumes, etc. It also reportedly covers hygiene products like toothpaste and deodorant, as well as product for the home, like scented pine cones and aromatherapy pillows.
So, does the mean he’ll be churning out Yeezy scented pinecones? Will he be joining members of his famous fam – his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, owns KKW Beauty; his sister-in-law Kylie Jenner owns Kylie Cosmetics – in the beauty industry soon? Who knows?
It’s a popular practice for brands to file blanket trademark stuff – things they’re not necessarily making ATM but just want the paperwork covered for when they do decide to go in that direction.
Also, this wouldn’t be the first time he tried to head in that direction. Per TMZ, back in 2017, Kanye filed for a similar trademark for DONDA brand cosmetics (named after his mom), but, so far, it looks like those plans are yet to be taken further.
