Kanye West’s Donda Academy has been going through some major ups and downs.

It was reported on Thursday that the 45-year-old entertainer’s Donda Academy had shut its doors for the moment. The private school’s closing came amidst Kanye’s anti-Semitic rants on social media and in interviews.

The school’s principal, Jason Angell, is said to have sent an email to the parents of Donda Academy students, telling them that “at the discretion of our founder, Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective immediately.”

Kanye himself addressed the school shutting down with a now-deleted post in his Instagram which said:

“Here’s the clout you’re looking for. My school is being shut down.”

The principal also apparently insisted in the email that Donda Academy is planning on reopening in September 2023, adding:

“We are confident that our scholars will continue to advance as the creative innovators, influencers and academic leaders or the next generation.”

However, just hours after announcing that it had closed, Donda Academy re-opened again!

The school’s parents and students received another email which said:

“Join us tomorrow morning in worship for the return of Donda Academy. With the help of our parents and community, we are back and returning with a vengeance!

The children of Donda are going to change the world. Apologies for the late email! See you bright and early!”

As of now it is unclear if Kanye was the one who made the decision to reopen the school.
