Kate Hudson is the latest celebrity to join in on the nepotism baby discussion that’s been waging on in Hollywood.
In case you didn’t know, a report was run last week about the various “Nepo Babies” enjoying successful careers in the entertainment industry. The report, which came from New York Magazine, led to fans being shocked upon learning just how many stars had famous parents.
Kate, who is the daughter of Hollywood stars Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, was asked about the issue in a new interview. The actress shared her thoughts on whether she believed it mattered who your parents are. She responded to Independent with this:
“The nepotism thing, I mean… I don’t really care.
I look at my kids and we’re a storytelling family. It’s definitely in our blood. People can call it whatever they want, but it’s not going to change it.”
She went on to say that she thinks “there are other industries where it’s [more common], stating:
“I see it in business way more than I see it in Hollywood. Sometimes I’ve been in business meetings where I’m like, wait, whose child is this? Like, this person knows nothing.”
Kate’s final verdict was this:
“I don’t care where you come from, or what your relationship to the business is — if you work hard and you kill it, it doesn’t matter.”
