Congratulations are in order from Katharine McPhee and David Foster who recently welcomed their first child together.
The couple are now proud parents of a baby boy!
“Katharine McPhee and David Foster have welcomed a healthy baby boy,” Katharine’s rep confirms. “Mom, Dad and son are all doing wonderfully.”
The baby is Katharine’s first child and David’s first son – he’s also dad to five daughters from previous relationships.
The Smash star was actually due to give birth earlier this month. On what was supposed to be her due date, she recorded an interview with Women On Top podcast where she revealed that she and her hubby were expecting a son while when discussing the pressure on women in society.
“Since I’m having a boy, I don’t know if people know that, it’s definitely different, you think about different things,” she said. “I always wanted a girl, that’s always what I wanted — I always wanted both. Let’s just be honest about that. But now that I’m having a boy, I’m like, ‘Phew, wow, there’s different things I need to worry about.’ Versus the things I would be thinking about with a girl.”
“But it’s kind of refreshing because I feel like I don’t need to think about those societal ‘this is the way you look.’ I think men have different issues and different things to worry about,” she added.
Katharine and David tied the knot in 2019 and first hinted about the pregnancy in October of last year.
“I just came home and opened this gift from Aperol Spritz, which for those of you who don’t know … is one of my favorite drinks and it reminds you of being in Capri,” she said in a video on her Instagram Stories, amid pregnancy at the time. . “Thank you, Aperol Spritz. I won’t be drinking this anytime soon — wink, wink — but I’m very excited.”
She’s since shared updates of her pregnancy journey with fans on Instagram, sharing stunning photos of her growing baby bump.
