It looks like Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr.’s romance has gone from hot and heavy to fizzled out.
The pair, who first sparked romance rumors in September 2020, have split after eight months of dating.
“Their relationship fizzled,” an insider told Us Weekly. “They figured out they’re better off as friends… Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together—it just simply didn’t work out. She’s focusing on being a mom and her upcoming projects.”
A spokesperson for Katie confirmed the split, telling the outlet, “the pair have parted ways amicably but remain friends.”
Katie, who’s notoriously private about her personal life, has been snapped on multiple occasions packing on the PDA with Emilio since September all over New York City. And by December, the two were publicly declaring their love for each other on social media.
Sharing a photo of Katie sitting on his lap, Emilio wrote a heartfelt tribute for her birthday (December 18). “The most amazing, kindest, beautiful person. Every time I see your face it makes me smile. Happy Birthday !!! I love you !!” he captioned the black-and-white photo.
Replying to his post, Katie commented, “Thank you so much my Love. I love u too!!!!!”
However, there hasn’t been a public sighting of the two of them together over the past few weeks. Emilio hasn’t publicly addressed the breakup.
But, despite the breakup, it looks like the two continue to have a professional relationship – Emilio will be starring in the short film Almost A Year, which Katie is producing.
