Katy Perry was among the celebrities who voiced her support for Ellen DeGeneres amid talk show allegations by current and former employees – but she knew from the get-go that not everyone was going to agree with what she had to say.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been the subject of controversy in recent weeks – so much so that WarnerMedia has launched an investigation to look into its current and former employees’ claims of a “toxic” work environment. Then, there are also rumors going around that Ellen herself doesn’t practice the kindness that she preaches to viewers.
Several Hollywood stars have since voiced their support for Ellen – including Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Hart Diane Keaton, Jerry O’Connell, and Katy, who went on Twitter to share her own Ellen experience:
“I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow. I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow.”
Despite these stars’ support, however, not everyone shared the same sentiments.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Katy explained that she only wanted to share her own experiences with the talk show host, and not speak for anyone else.
“I started that tweet off not undermining anyone else’s experience,” Katy explained to the outlet. “I wanted to only speak from my own experience. I have over 100 million people that follow me on Twitter, so not everyone is going to agree with me. And I’m not here to make everyone agree with me.”
In other Katy Perry news…
Katy and fiancé Orlando Bloom are gearing up for the arrival of their first child together, but it seems the couple is looking to make another big change in their lives.
According to TMZ, Katy and Orlando are on the hunt for new digs – and may have found some promising options in the celebrity enclave of Monecito.
The engaged couple are currently living in a 3,000 square-foot home near Santa Barbara, but according to the outlet, the two have been checking out much much larger homes – think massive estates on several acres of land.
Katy’s due to give birth sometime this summer and Orlando’s already gushing about becoming a girl dad, but it looks like sporting a baby bump won’t stop Katy from house hunting. The pop star has actually previously revealed that she hasn’t let her pregnancy slow her down.
“I’m a very active woman… and during this time of COVID — and quite frankly an American revolution — I have been also putting out songs and heading towards putting out a record,” Katy said on KIIS1065’s Kyle and Jackie O radio show. “I’m working really hard. The one blessing is I don’t have to travel extremely.”
