Kehlani’s ex-partner, Javaughn Young-White, has filed for full custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Adeya Nomi, in a shocking turn of events. The 27-year-old guitarist, who dated the R&B singer from 2018 to 2019, is making some serious allegations in court documents that have caught the attention of many.

In his filing, Javaughn claims that Kehlani is involved in what he describes as a cult, and he believes this involvement is affecting the upbringing of their daughter. He stated, “Adeya was born through a home birth orchestrated by what I would describe as a cult that she belongs in,” according to documents obtained by People. This unusual birth setting, he claims, has led to complications with establishing his legal rights as Adeya’s father.

One of the central issues Javaughn raises in his court filing is the absence of his name on Adeya’s birth certificate. “Due to the fact that Adeya was born in a home and not in a conventional setting like a hospital, my name is not on Adeya’s birth certificate,” he wrote. Javaughn alleges that despite his repeated requests over the past five years, Kehlani has not added his name to the birth certificate, nor has she provided him with their daughter’s social security number. He even questions whether Adeya has a social security number at all.

These bureaucratic issues, however, are only the tip of the iceberg in Javaughn’s allegations. He claims that the group Kehlani is involved with exercises significant control over her actions, particularly concerning the upbringing of their daughter. He alleges that the cult leader convinced Kehlani that he was a danger to Adeya, telling her that he would kill their daughter and that she should block him from seeing her for months.

The accusations continue to escalate, with Javaughn alleging that the cult leader has “numerous accusations of committing sexual assault” against women and young girls. He also claims that Kehlani has left Adeya in the care of “random strangers” who are members of the cult, including the leader. According to Javaughn, these strangers have been allowed to share a bed with Adeya and even bathe her, raising serious concerns about the child’s safety and well-being.

Perhaps the most disturbing allegation Javaughn makes is that Kehlani allows a member of the cult, referred to as “Messiah,” to take baths with Adeya while under the influence of psychedelic drugs. This claim, if true, raises alarming questions about the environment in which Adeya is being raised.

In light of these accusations, Javaughn is asking the court to establish his paternity legally so that he can exercise his rights as Adeya’s father. He is also seeking child support from Kehlani. These requests suggest that Javaughn is not just concerned about being recognized as Adeya’s father but is also worried about the financial and emotional well-being of their daughter.

Kehlani, who recently made a return to the music scene with her first solo release in two years, has not publicly responded to these allegations.
