Kenedi Anderson will no longer be moving forward on American Idol.

The young singer, who has been touted as an early frontrunner on the long-standing singing competition, has dropped out of the show, which is currently on its 20th season.

Kenedi was among the three contestant who had earned a “platinum ticket” this season, which gave her the opportunity to skip a round during Hollywood Week and gain an advantage in round two.

Following the filming for her performance intended for the Top 24 episode, which was shot in Hawaii, the young singer decided to pull out of the show.

American Idol producers made the decision to air Kenedi’s performance, with host Ryan Seacrest filming a special video that aired afterwards. He said in the video:

“You might have noticed that there was no voting information during Kenedi’s performance just now. Since we taped these shows in Hawaii earlier, Kenedi has decided to withdraw from our show for personal reasons. We send her well wishes.”

Kenedi took to social media to further shed light on her decision. She wrote on Instagram:

“For personal reasons, I’m unable to continue on American Idol. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make, but I know it’s necessary. I’m so grateful to American Idol, the judges, the producers, the amazing contestants, and all the fans who have supported me.

Thank you for giving me such an amazing opportunity to share my voice, chase my dreams, feel so much joy and happiness doing what I love, and make lifelong friends along the way. <3″
