Khalid is addressing serious allegations made by his ex-boyfriend, Hugo Almonte, who reportedly outed the singer as gay. The 26-year-old “Young Dumb & Broke” artist came out publicly last week in a series of tweets following Hugo’s since-deleted posts discussing their past relationship.

Hugo claimed Khalid “lied and said that I broke into his house,” according to Rolling Stone. He also stated that his intent was not to out Khalid but to highlight how the singer allegedly “used his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship.”

On Monday (November 25), Khalid posted a video on social media addressing Hugo’s allegations and clarifying his side of the story.

“I’ve never accused anybody publicly of breaking into my house,” Khalid began. “The only people who even know about a break-in are my close circle. Nobody knew because I don’t want everybody in my business.”

Khalid also shut down claims that he uses drugs or pays people to date him.

“I’m gonna speak about the pink cocaine thing,” he said. “I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings. I smoke weed, and I drink a little bit, but I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life, for real.”

Regarding the accusation of paying for relationships, Khalid was unequivocal: “Let’s talk about this escorting thing. I’ve never paid for sex a day in my life, ever. I’ve never paid anybody to date me, I’ve never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me, ever.”

Khalid emphasized that his relationship with Hugo ended years ago, making the current drama perplexing.

“This is four years ago. Where is this coming from? You tell me, cause I really don’t know,” he said.

While addressing the situation, Khalid also expressed frustration at being mischaracterized as manipulative or abusive.

“The only reason I’m really clearing up any of this is because it’s just a little triggering seeing the few comments – it’s not that it’s a running narrative or anything like that – but it’s triggering seeing a few comments of people painting me as if I’m just some manipulative abuser. It’s just crazy to me,” he explained.

Khalid further claimed that the abuse in their relationship was “the other way around, and that’s what hurts the most.”

Khalid wrapped up his statement by expressing his desire to move on from the situation.

“All of this is definitely frustrating. I want all of this to be over just like y’all,” he admitted. “It’s literally one of the main reasons why I don’t involve myself in any drama, why I stay out of the way. I don’t like this. So I’m not gonna run around like I’m unbothered. I never said I was unbothered. This is very bothering, for real.”

By speaking out, Khalid hopes to put an end to the speculation and reclaim control over his narrative. As he moves forward, it’s clear the singer is focused on maintaining his privacy and staying true to himself amidst the noise.
