Kiki Layne and Ariel Stachel are speaking out about their involvement with Don’t Worry Darling.
The 30-year-old actress took to Instagram to address the scenes that were cut of her role and that of co-star Ari-el Stachel’s in the final cut of the film, which is out in theaters now. The pair star as Margaret and Ted, a couple in the idealized 1950s desert community of Victory that isn’t quite what it seems and quickly unravels as the movie progresses.
Kiki’s role serves as a catalyst for Florence Pugh’s character, Alice, who starts to test the bounds of the experimental town and question what’s behind it. Reportedly, both Kiki and Ari filmed a lot more scenes — but those were ultimately cut.
Now, Kiki has taken to Instagram to address their reduced screen time. She uploaded a behind the scenes photo of herself and Ari, and simply wrote:
“The best thing about #DontWorryDarling is that I was lucky enough to meet @arielstachel.
They cut us from most of the movie, but we thriving in real life.”
The actress went on to declare:
“Love you Ari”
And she accompanied this with the hashtags #GotMyCheck, #GotMyMan and #EverythingHappensforaReason.
Ari wrote a response to her post, sweetly writing:
“My love. You are a queen and your talent shines so bright.
I was thirsty then and I’m thirsty now.”
