Star-studded ensemble comedy series Kombucha Cure has won six Telly Awards!
The winners for the 44th Annual People’s Telly Awards have been announced, and Kombucha Cure dominated with six honors! The show was awarded for Drama Online, Directing Online, Writing Online, Editing Online, Trailer, and Responsibility Online.
Kombucha Cure, from writer and director Cecilia Choi (Blinded, Palm Sunday), is one of the funniest and smartest new show to hit streamers this year. Set in the fictional town of Las Verdigris, the series is about doctor and their cancer patients taking on the healthcare industry in the spirit of Robin Hood.
The show stars two-time Emmy winner Tamara Braun (Days Of Our Lives, General Hospital), Denis Boutte (The Young And The Restless, Bronx SIU), Jasper Cole (The Fall, Macgruber), multiple Emmy nominee Jennifer Bassey (All My children), Robert Craighead (Ruthless), Angie Kim (Extracurricular), and Jeremy Nakia (This Is Us).
Season 1 debuted this year and gives viewers a major dose of laughter and heart with each episode.
The Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens. It was founded in 1979 to salute outstanding material in local, regional, and cable television commercials. Non-broadcast video and television programming was added soon after. In this era of digital video, the Telly Awards of today also reflects and celebrates this exciting new chapeter of the moving image on and offline. The winners for this year’s awards were announced this May.
