Kylie Jenner Is Highest-Paid Celeb On Forbes List Amid Billionaire Title Drama

Forbes has released their 2020 Celeb 100 list and Kylie Jenner is at the top spot.

According to the magazine, Kylie made a sweet $590 million last year – largely in part from the sale of 51% stake in her company Kylie Cosmetics to Coty Inc. – making her the top-earning celeb on the list.

Taking the number two spot is Kylie’s brother-in-law, Kanye West, who earned $170 Million from his Yeezy deal with Adidas.

The magazine’s annual list of the highest-paid celebs comes in the wake an article published questioning her billionaire status.

Kylie went on Twitter to dispute Forbes’ claims that she’s no longer a billionaire – and that she’s lied about her finances for years.

“what am i even waking up to. i thought this was a reputable site.. all i see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol,” Kylie tweeted. “i’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period”

“but okay i am blessed beyond my years, i have a beautiful daughter, and a successful business and i’m doing perfectly fine,” she added

“i can name a list of 100 things more important right now than fixating on how much money i have,” she continued,  calling it “literally the LAST thing” she’s worried about.

In the article, Forbes wrote that the Kylie’s tax returns were “likely forged,” thus inflating her net worth. She hit back, tweeting, “you just THOUGHT they were forged? like actually what am i reading.”

Kylie’s lawyer, Michael Kump, also issued a statement refuting the claims and demanded that Forbes retract the article.

“We have reviewed Forbes’ article accusing Kylie of engaging in deceit and a ‘web of lies’ to inflate her net worth,” the statement reads, per Entertainment Tonight. “The article is filled with outright lies. Forbes’ accusation that Kylie and her accountants ‘forged tax returns’ is unequivocally false and we are demanding that Forbes immediately and publicly retract that and other statements. It is sad that, of all things, Forbes has devoted 3 reporters to investigate the effect of the coronavirus crisis on Kylie’s net worth. We would not expect that from a supermarket tabloid, much less from Forbes.”

Kanye has also been vocal about his issue with the magazine, mainly for not declaring him a billionaire until April of this year and for reportedly undervaluing his net worth when they did.

Ye was featured on Forbes’ cover in August of last year – but didn’t name him a billionaire. In November, he told The Hollywood Reporter, “When I did Forbes, I showed them a $890 million receipt and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire.’ …When people say it’s crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for a year until y’all understand exactly what it is … It will be on the license plate.”

In April, Forbes announced that “New information about Kanye West’s deal with Adidas for sneaker brand Yeezy convinced Forbes to call the entrepreneur and musician a billionaire.” Based on their numbers, he’s worth $1.3 Billion.

However, Kanye reportedly claims he’s worth way more than Forbes’ valuation and is said to have texted the editors: “It’s not a billion. It’s 3.3 billion [sic] since no one at Forbes knows how to count.

The rest of the top ten highest-earning celebs comprise of Roger Federer ($106.3 million), Cristiano Ronaldo ($105 million), Lionel Messi ($104 million), Tyler Perry ($97 million), Neymar ($95.5 million), Howard Stern ($90 million), LeBron James ($88.2 million) and Dwayne Johnson ($87.5 million).
