Lance Bass and Danielle Fishel are telling their story – their way.

The *NSYNC singer and Boy Meets World actress are working on a movie based on their teenage romance back in the 90s. The pair revealed the news of their upcoming project when Lance appeared on a recent episode of the Pod Meets World podcast which Danielle hosts with Will Friedle and Rider Strong.

The two opened up about their plans on the episode, saying that Lauren Lapkus and Mary Holland are writing the script. Danielle shared that the film would tell their “love story and about our prom experience,” going on to say:

“I dated Lance for about a year while I was on Boy Meets World. It was my senior year and Lance came with me to my high school prom.”

Lance and Danielle also opened up about their teen romance, revealing that they started dating after *NSYNC came on for a live special of Boy Meets World back in 1999. Danielle said:

“I thought I was going to marry Lance. I had envisioned our future.

I held on for hope for way too long that we were going to get back together and get married and have a family… It turns out I’m not Lance’s type!”

Lance talked about their inspiration for making the movie, saying:

“The reason we wanted to make this prom story into a film, I think so many people can relate to that story; so many people in the LGBT community, their prom night was the night they were like, ‘Oh, wait a minute. This can’t happen anymore.’

This was the catalyst for me that made me start to accept myself, which took a long time after that, but that was definitely the first little straw that broke.”
