Laura Harrier isn’t holding back. The 34-year-old Doctor Odyssey star took to TikTok recently to call out fellow actor Shameik Moore, 29, after he shared a post that seemed to suggest the two might be romantically involved—despite Laura being happily engaged to creative consultant Sam Jarou.
“I keep seeing all these videos that I am being tagged in with another actor and people speculating what that is,” Laura began in her TikTok. “It’s really annoying me because I’m literally engaged. That’s important to me, and you know, I’m in Hollywood, I get it. People do PR stunts, whatever, people like to get attention.”
The incident began when Shameik, best known for voicing Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) featuring the two of them posing together at an event. The post was captioned “coming soon” with a musical notes emoji, sparking immediate speculation.
Laura quickly set the record straight, explaining that the video was from an event over a year ago when someone had asked them to take photos together. She emphasized that there’s no deeper meaning behind it.
“Not sure why you would post that now,” she said in her TikTok. “And so I texted him—we’re not close, like I know him just from around—and I texted him, ‘Hey, can you take this down? Not sure why you would post that. Also, I’m literally getting married, and I don’t like this insinuation that there is something going on between us if that was your intention.’”
But her request was ignored. “It’s still up, which is f–king weird,” Laura added. “You’re a f–king weirdo. I’m sorry. You’re a f–king weirdo. And I’m f–king annoyed.”
Laura didn’t stop there. She made it clear that she feels disrespected by the insinuation and is protective of her personal life. “I just wanted to say something because I don’t like that,” she said. “I don’t like my marriage or myself being disrespected.”
She also called out Shameik directly, accusing him of using her image for attention. “You’re using my image to get attention with, and I don’t like that.”
Following Laura’s candid comments, Shameik deleted his X post and has since deactivated his account entirely.
