The mystery is solved—Mae Whitman’s baby boy’s father has been revealed, and the news is straight from none other than Lauren Graham herself!
Back in August 2024, the Good Girls actress surprised fans by announcing the birth of her first child, a baby boy named Miles. However, she kept the identity of his father private—until now.
Lauren, who starred alongside Mae on Parenthood, let it slip during her appearance on Armchair Expert, Dax Shepard’s podcast, on Monday (March 10).
“I’m envious of your relationship with Mae,” Dax told Lauren. “First of all, it’s the sweetest relationship. It really is special.”
Lauren, who has remained incredibly close with Mae, responded, “It really is. I still get a little thrill when she’ll text me back because it’s not a given. And she’s a mom now, and she’s working and she’s in Ireland.”
As the two reminisced about Mae, Dax mentioned how much he wanted to meet baby Miles. That’s when Lauren casually revealed the father of Mae’s child.
“I’m trying to think the last time [I saw her],” Lauren said. “They’re in New York now. Carlos, her baby daddy, is on Broadway in Hadestown, which I feel happy to plug because he’s fantastic in it, Carlos Valdes.”
“He’s really great,” she added. “And so they’re in New York for the next while and then she got this job in Ireland. So she’s in Ireland with the baby.”
As for the nature of Mae and Carlos’s relationship? That remains a bit of a mystery. The two previously played love interests in the 2022 Hulu series Up Here, and Mae shared plenty of pictures with Carlos on Instagram. However, she hasn’t posted about him since July 2023.
