Lea Michele is remembering Cory Monteith.
The Funny Girl star and former Glee actress took to social media on Thursday (July 13) to pay tribute to her Glee co-star and late boyfriend, who tragically passed away 10 years ago on that day. Cory was 31.
Lea shared a photo of her and Cory, and alongside the sweet image she wrote this touching message:
“Hey you. 10 years. It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time. I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten.
We miss you every day and will never forget the light you brought to us all. I miss you big guy. I hope you found Taylor up there and are playing the drums together.”
Fans think the Taylor that Lea mentions in the note is in reference to Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters drummer who passed away in 2022.
Lea and Cory were together for many years while co-starring on Glee. Several years after he passed, she got two tattoos in honor of him. His Glee character’s name is inked on her waist, and his football jersey number is tattooed on her ribs.
