Bronny James has suffered a cardiac arrest episode.
The 18-year-old athlete and son of NBA superstar LeBron James was taking part in basketball training at USC’s Galen Center when he went into cardiac arrest. An ambulance was called and rushed him to the hospital.
The ambulance was deemed a “Code 3” meaning the ambulance used sirens and lights. Codes are reflective of how serious medical events are. A Code 3 means it was very serious.
The James family released a statement, with their rep telling outlets:
“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.
We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”
The statement went on to say:
“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
Bronny is committed to play for the Trojans. He is a big talent in basketball, with many experts believing that he will end up playing in the NBA, just like his dad.
