Lili Reinhart is apologizing for her recent social media faux pas.

The Riverdale star got some heat for sharing a topless photo on Instagram that showed off her side-boob thinking it would help put more spotlight on Breonna Taylor’s death.

“Now that my sideboob has gotten your attention, Breonna Taylor’s murderers have not been arrested. Demand justice,” she captioned the since-deleted post.

Celebs and regular folks alike have continued to call for justice for Breonna’s death – she was shot and killed in her home in Louisville, Kentucky during a drug bust on March 13. According to an ABC News report, only one of the three officers involved in the fatal shooting has been fired while the two others have been reassigned to administrative duties pending the investigation.

While it seems like Lili’s intentions were good, some fans felt that the post was inappropriate.

“breonna taylor’s death is NOT a joke or meme and people need to know that and lili’s post was literally NOT it,” one person tweeted.

“lili reinhart really thought she was doing something. this is DISGUSTING. stop using breonna taylors name as a caption for your sexy photos. she’s not a meme or a marketing tactic,” another wrote.

“We have entered a thrilling transitional phase in which the celebs have resumed thirst posting but have not yet stopped social justice posting, resulting in wondrous juxtapositions like this one from TV’s Hot Betty yesterday,” film and TV critic Charles Bramasco shared.

Following the backlash, Lili went on Twitter to issue an apology, acknowledging that she made a mistake and that she understood the criticism.

“I’ve always tried to use my platform for good. And speak up about things that are important to me,” she wrote. “I also can admit when I make a mistake and I made a mistake with my caption. It was never my intent to insult anyone and I’m truly sorry to those that were offended.”

“I’ve tried very hard to be honest on my IGTV lives that I’m still learning and trying to be better.

But I understand that my caption came off as tone deaf,” she added. “I truly had good intentions and did not think it through that it could come off as insensitive.”

Lili has been actively using her platform to support the Black Lives Matter movement – in the past month, she’s hosted 14 IGTV conversations with Black activists discussing race issues like microaggressions, the lack of diversity in Hollywood, and checking one’s privilege.

Several other celebrities have been using their platforms to demand justice for Breonna, like Beyonce, who wrote an open letter to Kentucky’s attorney general, and John Legend, who wrote about the subject in an essay for Entertainment Weekly.
