Lily Allen is opening up in a deeply personal way.

On the latest episode of her podcast Miss Me?, the 40-year-old singer spoke candidly about her experiences with pregnancy and abortion, admitting that she doesn’t recall exactly how many abortions she’s had over the years.

“Abortions, I’ve had a few. But then again, I can’t remember exactly how many,” Lily shared, reflecting on a chapter of her past that she says used to happen all too often. “I think maybe like, I want to say four or five,” she added.

Co-host Miquita Oliver, who is also her close friend, chimed in and said she had had “about five” as well.

Lily went on to describe a particularly strange experience from one of those moments. “I remember once getting pregnant and the man paying for my abortion, and me thinking it was so romantic,” she revealed. But in hindsight, her perspective shifted. “I don’t think it’s generous or romantic,” she admitted, noting that the man never followed up with her afterwards.

The singer is now a mum to two daughters—Ethel Mary, 13, and Marnie Rose, 12—whom she shares with her ex-husband, Sam Cooper. Lily and Sam also tragically lost a son, George, who was stillborn in 2010.

Throughout her career, Lily has never shied away from discussing difficult or taboo topics. Her honesty, though sometimes polarizing, has always been a part of her public identity—and this conversation is no exception. Her latest remarks are sparking conversations around reproductive rights, personal agency, and the stigma that still surrounds abortion, especially in the public eye.
