Lizzo got her mom a new car for Christmas – and the story behind it can legit make anyone tear up.
The “Juice” singer took to Instagram to share a video of how she surprised her mom, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, with a huge, shiny brand new SUV for Christmas.
The video began with Shari being led outside – she kept her eyes closed the whole time.
“okay…merry Christmas mommy, open your eyes!” Lizzo told her.
And parked in front of them was her gift – a shiny black Audi SUV, complete with a giant red bow on the hood and everything.
Shari’s reaction was priceless – she couldn’t contain her whoop of surprise. Then she started tearing up as she embraced her daughter and thanked her.
Emotional moment over, Shari was even more surprised to learn that the car was an Audi, exclaiming, “Oh my God!”
Lizzo captioned the video with a touching story of what prompted her to give her mom with such an extravagant gift.
“Got my mommy a brand new Audi for Xmas 🎄,” she wrote. “I remember crying in my car when my daddy passed, no job no money nowhere to live, wishing I could one day provide for my family..”
“I couldnt do it for my dad so ima make sure I spoil Mama,” she added. “Happy holidays y’all.”
