In her lawsuit, Asha also didn’t shy away from naming wardrobe manager Amanda Nomura as a source of problems. She alleges that Amanda made “racist and fat-phobic comments” and uttered cruel remarks about Lizzo and her backup dancers “on multiple occasions.” What’s even more concerning, Amanda is accused of making veiled threats of physical harm towards others.
In response to Asha’s lawsuit, Lizzo’s legal team issued a statement that didn’t mince words:
“As Lizzo receives a Humanitarian Award tonight from the Black Music Action Coalition for the incredible charitable work she has done to lift up all people, an ambulance-chasing lawyer tries to sully this honor by recruiting someone to file a bogus, absurd publicity-stunt lawsuit who, wait for it, never actually met or even spoke with Lizzo. We will pay this as much attention as it deserves. None.”
