Lizzo seems to be responding to comments that Kanye West made recently about her weight.
In a recent appearance on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight, the 45-year-old rapper spoke about the “demonic” promotion of obesity by the media. Kanye said in the interview that is was part of a plot to accelerate the “genocide of the Black race.”
This is where the topic of Lizzo was brought up, with Kanye saying about the 34-year-old “About Damn Time” singer:
“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots … on Instagram, they attack her losing weight, because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy…It’s demonic.”
After the interview, Lizzo seemed to address Kanye’s comments during her concert in Toronto on Friday evening (October 7). She declared to the crowd:
“I feel like everybody in America got my motherf—king name in their motherf—king mouth for no motherf—king reason.
I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business. Can I stay here? Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”
