Machine Gun Kelly is reconnecting with his mom.
The 32-year-old rapper has sweetly introduced her to the world by sharing a photo on social media of the two of them together after her reunited with his estranged mother last summer.
Taking to Instagram, MGK showed everyone that he wants them to meet this very special person in his life. On June 2, he shared a photo of him with his mom and captioned it simply with:
“Introducing… my mom.”
MGK has been very open previously about his childhood trauma and his estranged relationship with his mom, who he said had left him and his father back when he was only 9 years old.
He even referenced her in the song “Burning Memories.” In the track, he opens by rapping:
“Yeah, this one’s for the mama that I never knew (never knew) / I took acid just to burn all of my memories of you.”
He spoke more about her in the song, adding:
“How’d you leave your only child at nine for another dude?/Took that pain and punched my father in the stomach ’til he bled/Hit the store and stole a 40 and took that s–t to the head/All the years that you ignore me left me sleepless in the bed/I hope daddy got some kids because your only son is dead.”
Last summer, MGK took to Twitter to share that he reconnected with his mom after fans encouraged him to reach out to her:
“Wild story but after all these years, the fans are responsible for me and my mom finally reconnecting I love you.”
