Mariah Carey is the ultimate Christmas diva, and her holiday hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is perhaps one of THE songs of the festive season, year after year.
It’s a song that countless people love and many covers of the tune have been done, too. And now, Mariah is sharing her new fave celebrity cover of the song!
The 52-year-old entertainer made the reveal on Thursday (December 1) when she reacted to this celebrity covering the song, declaring it to be her “new fave rendition.”
And that celebrity is none other than David Beckham!
The 47-year-old retired soccer super star’s wife Victoria Beckham took to social media to upload a video of him singing the Mariah tune as he was sipping coffee and scrolling through his phone.
In the video, you can see that David isn’t aware at first that Victoria is recording him — until he struggles to hit a note while singing.
Victoria got his attention when she couldn’t help but teasingly declare:
“You were struggling with the high note weren’t you?”
David responded by affectionately teasing her back:
“Like you do?!”
He then smiled broadly and went back to singing, just in time to belt out the high-pitched “You” part of the song!
Victoria shared the video on Instagram, captioning it:
“@davidbeckham giving us his best @mariahcarey”
And then Mariah herself took to the comments section to sweetly write:
“My new fave rendition! Love you guys!”
