Matty Healy is stepping away from social media – again.

Outlets report that the singer announced during The 1975’s concert in Adelaide, Australia that he was taking a social media break.

He stated that having to “perform” on stage is exhausting him, and because of this, he has to quit social media. The “Oh Caroline” crooner explained his decision, saying:

“The 1975 is a very eras band. The era of me being a f—-ing arsehole is coming to an end.

I’ve had enough.”

He went on to say:

“I perform all the time and it’s my job and I love doing this but I can’t perform off the stage anymore as I just want to be a bloke.”

As of now, Matty’s Instagram and Twitter pages are deactivated and deleted.

He also stepped back from the internet back in 2020 after he tweeted about George Floyd’s death amid the Black Lives Matter protests. He linked a 1975 track in his post, which many users deemed inappropriate. He apologized at the time and then deleted his Twitter account.
