Meghan Trainor and hubby Daryl Sabara are expecting their first child!
During a surprise video chat with Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Wednesday (October 7), Meghan began by showing off their Christmas decorations – last month, the “All About That Bass” singer announced that she’s dropping a holiday album.
Daryl later joined his wife, displaying a onesie on cam before announcing the happy news: “We’re pregnant!!!”
“I’m so excited!” Daryl added. Meghan chimed in that they were so excited they “couldn’t sleep.”
“We were thinking about who do I tell first, and I was like, I told Hoda since I was 19 going to the TODAY show (that) I will have the most babies in the world,” she continued. “It finally happened and we’re so excited.”
Meghan also shared that the pregnancy has been “very easy so far.”
“I do feel like I’m learning new things every single day,” she added. “I realized how amazing women are. We’re all like, women are superheroes. This is crazy.”
She later shared a sonogram of her baby on Instagram, writing, “You all know how long I’ve wanted this!!!! @darylsabara and I are so beyond happy and excited to meet this little cutie early next year! WE’RE PREGNANTTTTT!!!”
Daryl also shared the same photo, captioning it with, “I love you @meghan_trainor and I can’t wait to start a family with you ❤️🎁.”
Meghan and Daryl tied the knot in December 2018. The “All About That Bass” singer has been pretty candid about wanting a big family.
“I want to get it all done at one time and be like, pop them in there,” Meghan told E! last October. “You know what I’m saying? Let’s knock it out. Let’s do it at once. You and me. I want twins or triplets.”
In February, she also opened up to Entertainment Tonight about having children. “Everyone’s like, ‘Where’s the baby?’ Whoa!” she said. “You know how long I wanted [a baby]. I’ll call you immediately if it’s a positive sign… [but] we go on and off.”
However, it seems finding the right time was a challenge for the couple.
“We’re like, ‘Let’s do it now,’ and then, ‘Let’s wait until tour,'” she continued. “No, [we’re not trying anymore]. But we tried for, like, one second, and I was like, ‘Just kidding. Don’t!'”
Following their social media announcement, excited friends and fans flooded the comments with congratulations and well wishes.
