Congratulations are in order for Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabbara, who welcomed their first child – a son! – last week.
The new mom announced the happy news on Instagram on Valentine’s Day, sharing several adorable photos of their precious bundle of joy.
“This sweet baby boy’s due date was today on Valentine’s Day💝 We got to meet him Monday, Feb 8th!” she wrote. “We are SO IN LOVE🥰😭 Thank you @darylsabara for the best Valentine’s gift ever!”
She also revealed their baby’s name: “Welcome to the world Riley!”
The “All About That Bass” singer revealed she was pregnant during an appearance on the Today show in October 2020. She’s also kept fans updated about her pregnancy journey – including its complications.
“I am so pregnant,” she said during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in December. “…I got gestational diabetes, but so many women have it. It was just the unknowing. I didn’t know what it was. It’s like a genetics thing. My mom had it and she didn’t even give me a full warning.”
“I just watch what I eat now,” she continued. “I write everything now. I check my blood. And we’re good now. I’ve been crushing it. It’s like a game for me and I’m winning. It’s nice to know we’re both healthy.”
She also shared pregnancy photos and updates with fans on social media.
“Preggo update: woke up thinking my dog was crying… it was me WHEEZING trying to breath while laying down lol. Less than a month to go🤞,” she posted on Instagram last month.
“Preggo update: Baby is breech again at 36 weeks so I’ve been laying upside down on my couch everyday lol,” she captioned a glam maternity photo towards the final weeks of her pregnancy. “Other than that we are doing amazing and we’re ready to meet this baby!!!!”
