Riverdale actress Vanessa Morgan is about to become a mom.
The 28-year-old actress shared the news on social media Friday (July 24), sharing photos and videos from her gender reveal celebration – she also revealed in one of the photos that she found out that she was pregnant on May 20.
“Exciting news… I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January 💙,” Vanessa wrote on Instagram. “This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!!”
“On a personal note, I have had the blessing of growing up in the public eye having started my acting career at age 6. While this has been incredible for me, I am very much looking forward to giving this little guy some room to grow up outside of the public eye, until he tells me otherwise 🙂,” she continued. “Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly. Thank you God for this blessing ☺️ I’m just so happy & can’t wait to dedicate everyday to being the best mommy I can be ♥️”

However, just days after sharing the baby news, reports came out that hubby White Sox pitcher, Michael Kopech, has filed for divorce from the Riverdale actress.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Michael filed the documents on June 19, in his hometown of Morris County, Texas.
Earlier this month, The Sox announced that Michael would not be playing this season due to “personal reasons.”
Vanessa and Michael went Instagram official in July 2018 – and were engaged a year later. They tied the knot in January of this year. Her Riverdale co-star, Madeleine Petsch, was one of the bridesmaids. Skeet Ulrich and Drew Ray Tanner were also in attendance.
Fans have noticed Michael has been missing from her social media for a while – her last post with Michael was on May 1st, for his birthday. She also did not mention Michael in her pregnancy announcement.
However, according to Chicago Tribune’s report, “A rep for Morgan said Kopech is the father but declined to comment further. Attempts to reach Kopech were unsuccessful.”
