Michelle Williams is a mum again—and she and husband Thomas Kail now officially have a family of six.
The ultra-private couple have welcomed their third child together, making this Michelle’s fourth child overall. The news flew a little under the radar until the pair were spotted out in New York City, not just as a couple, but as a family of six.
According to People, the newest addition to the family arrived via surrogate. And the whole crew is reportedly over the moon:
“They couldn’t be happier to expand their family, and Matilda has been doting on her younger siblings.”
Michelle’s eldest child is 18-year-old Matilda, whom she shared with the late Heath Ledger. She and director Thomas Kail—best known for his work on Hamilton and Fosse/Verdon—share son Hart, who’s now four, and another son born in 2022. The new baby brings their total to four kids under one roof, and we can only imagine the joyful chaos.
Michelle and Thomas have kept their relationship mostly out of the public eye since it began. The pair met while working on the award-winning Fosse/Verdon, which Thomas directed and Michelle starred in. News of their romance first went public in late 2019 when Michelle was spotted with a baby bump and engagement ring in tow. Since then, they’ve built a quiet life together—just occasionally spotted on walks with their children, or during rare red carpet moments.
Despite her very public career, Michelle has always kept her family life incredibly private. She rarely shares personal updates unless it’s through trusted publications, and she’s been known to protect her children’s privacy fiercely. That makes this newest update all the more heartwarming—because while they might not be the loudest celebrity parents in the spotlight, they’re clearly doing things their way.
Big congrats to Michelle, Thomas, and their growing family!
