Miley Cyrus may be leaving her touring days behind.
The 30-year-old “Flowers” singer said in a new interview that she “can’t” tour anymore.
Her last global tour was her 2015 Bangerz tour which included over 70 shows across North America, Europe, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand.
Miley is renowned for her live performances and her amazing covers, but it seems like audiences may no longer be graced by her live arena performances again. She stated that performing in such large venues makes her uncomfortable, and she prefers to perform in smaller, more intimate spaces for family and friends. She shared:
“It’s been a minute. After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014], I kind of looked at it as more of a question.
And I can’t. Not only can’t, because can’t is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?”
She went on to say:
“Like singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety. It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because it you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.”
