Miley Cyrus might have a new gig soon – as Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s wedding singer!
It all started when Gwen and Miley were fangirling over each other on Twitter – Gwen had just seen Miley perform her hit track “Prisoner” on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts series and praised her in a tweet.
“Talented geeezzzz,” Gwen wrote, and signed it, “gx.”
And who wouldn’t be stoked to get a compliment from Gwen? Miley definitely was and responded, “When my hero’s [sic] tweet me I get horny.”
She also saw it as an opportunity to offer her services to sing at Gwen and Blake’s upcoming nuptials.
“ALSO @gwenstefani @blakeshelton I’ll be your wedding singer!” Miley added in another tweet. “I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want! It’s your special day! Cheers to loving you both almost as much as you love each other!”
And Gwen thanked her for her generous offer, writing, “Thanks puppy gx.”
ICYMI, Gwen and Blake got engaged in October of last year after five years of dating. In December, Gwen dished on how the proposal went down during an interview with Kelly Clarkson – they had taken a family trip to Oklahoma to check out the house she and Blake were building there and he totally surprised her by popping the question.
“I walked in and my son was sitting right by this fireplace and Blake basically was getting down on his knees to do a fire and he goes, ‘Hey, can you look in that cabinet over there and get me a fire starter?'” Gwen recalled. “So I open the cabinet and there was like a ring in a box and I was like, ‘Ah! What? Are you serious?'”
Gwen also shared how the proposal almost didn’t happen that way – she had no idea what Blake had planned and was already thinking twice about pushing through with the trip because of the ongoing pandemic.
“I had no idea, obviously,” Gwen told Kelly. “In fact, I was trying to get out of going back to Oklahoma because it was getting too complicated with COVID and the family.”
“I’m like, ‘I think we should just cancel the trip,'” the mom of three recalled. “It was like, one of those, and then we got it all together and we ended up going.”
At this point, it’s still unsure whether the engaged couple will take Miley up on her offer, but if they do, that’s one thing to check off their wedding planning list.
