Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson have matching body ink — and the real-life friends have a hilarious story to match!
On a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Miley and Pete revealed that they actually got matching tattoos back in 2017 when Miley was the musical guest for an SNL episode.
In that 2017 episode, which Larry David hosted, Miley was part of a sketch titled “The Baby Step” where she and Pete played babies who were rapping. Pete quipped on The Tonight Show of the sketch:
“One of the many brilliant ideas that I bring to the SNL table!”
Miley went on to tell the story:
“At the end [of the sketch], our excuse for it all, Larry David said, ‘What’s going on?’ And we said, ‘We babies.’
And for some reason we looked at each other and we were like, ‘That’s a great tattoo. We’re doing this!”
Pete added:
“And then we did. I got my tattoo guy to come to 30 Rock. He was so excited. And then I burned mine off and you still have yours.”
Miley also revealed that she only found out that Pete had gotten his tattoo removed when she saw a commercial wherein he was getting rid of many of his tattoos:
“I’m like, ‘Wait a minute. That’s right where ‘we babies’ was.
I am fortunate enough that I still have ‘we babies’ right here on my foot.”
And she hilariously said:
“I stopped smoking weed the next day for a couple of years. Well, at least with Pete anyways!”
Miley and Pete will be teaming up for Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, airing live on December 31 from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM ET on NBC and live-streamed on Peacock.
