Miranda Kerr is reacting to Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s baby news.
On Wednesday (August 26), Orlando and Katy announced that they welcomed their baby girl Daisy Dove Bloom.
The engaged couple’s birth announcement was made through UNICEF, who congratulated the couple on social media.
“Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and Orlando Bloom’s new bundle of joy,” the organization wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of the new parents holding their baby’s tiny little hand.
UNICEF also shared Katy and Orlando’s statement on the arrival of their daughter.”We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the couple shared.
With Katy and Orlando both Goodwill Ambassadors for the organization, they also took the opportunity to shine the light on the challenges that new mothers face – especially amid the ongoing pandemic.
Katy and Orlando have since shared UNICEF’s post on their Instagram feeds, and Katy’s rep also confirmed the news to media outlets.
It’s been seven years since Miranda and Orlando split, and both have since moved on – Miranda is now married to Evan Spiegel, with whom she shares two sons with; Orlando and Katy are engaged to be married, and now have a baby girl together. However, the exes have remained amicable co-parents to their nine-year-old son, Flynn.
Miranda went on Instagram to show her support for the couple – she ~liked~ Orlando’s post, and hopped on the comments section of Katy’s post to write, “I’m so happy for you guys. Can’t wait to meet her.”
The baby girl is Katy’s first child and Orlando’s first daughter.
He previously shared that Flynn is uber excited to meet his little sister.
“I’ve got a 9-year-old boy. He’s got a couple of other brothers but this is his first sister so he’s excited too,” Orlando shared about Flynn. “It’s exciting times.”
As for Katy, the new momma hasn’t let giving birth slow her down – she just delivered her “2nd child” from her hospital bed!
No, she didn’t have twins. But having a baby hasn’t stopped her from releasing her sixth album, Smile.
“Delivering a baby and a record in the same week,” she tweeted. “Dont f–k with mama aka #whatmakesawoman #smile,” she tweeted prior to the release.
She later went on Instagram to joke about handing off her baby to fiancé Orlando and further teasing about the album drop.
“me after feeding all day handing Daisy off to daddy bout to deliver this 2nd child #SMILEISCOMINGlezzgo 🤡💽,” she wrote.
Following Smile’s release, she shared a message from her hospital bed.
“IT’S HERE! IT’S REALLY HERE! 🙃 I finally got back my smile! Hope this record puts one on your face 🙂 #SMILE 🙂 IS OUT EVERYWHERE NOW! LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH ENJOY 🤡♥️ (sent from my hospital bed lol),” she wrote on Instagram.
