Country singer Morgan Wallen left Saturday Night Live viewers puzzled after abruptly exiting the stage during the show’s closing moments.

The 31-year-old, who was the night’s musical guest, was seen briefly hugging host Mikey Madison before walking off as the cast remained onstage for the traditional farewell. His sudden departure caught the attention of fans, with some pointing out that cast members Ego Nwodim and Kenan Thompson appeared visibly confused by his exit.

Adding to the speculation, Morgan later posted a photo of a private jet on his Instagram Story with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.”

However, a source close to the singer told TMZ that the exit wasn’t intentional. “We’re told he entered and exited the studio the same way he did during rehearsals all week leading up to the live show…so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go.”

Whether accidental or not, it’s not the first time Morgan has made headlines in connection with SNL. In October 2020, he was originally booked as a musical guest but was dropped after being spotted partying in Alabama without a mask during the height of COVID-19 restrictions. He eventually returned to the show two months later.

For now, it seems his latest SNL appearance will be remembered more for his unexpected exit than his performance.
