Nia Long is addressing her fiancé Ime Udoka’s affair for the first time.

The 51-year-old The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actress broke her silence on the news that her fiancé, Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, was involved with a staff member.

Nia has moved to Boston along with Kez, her 10-year-old son with Ime, two weeks ago. The couple was said to be house hunting according to outlets.

It has been reported that Ime already knew back in July that the team was aware of his affair, and was launching an investigation into the matter.

Allegedly, Nią just found out a few days ago because Ime was aware the investigation was going to go public.

Now, she has released a statement through her representative. Nia said:

“The outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the community during this difficult time means so much to me. I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children.”

Ime has been officially suspended for the entire 2022-2023 season. The 45-year-old coach and former player reportedly had a consensual relationship with a female staffer, which was a violation of the team’s policies and code of conduct.

He released an apology after the suspension was confirmed:

“I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down.

I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”

Ime and Nia have been dating since 2010. They got engaged in 2015.
