Nick Cannon’s brood is about to welcome another precious little one soon.
The 41-year-old TV personality announced on Monday during The Nick Cannon Show that he is expecting his eighth child, this time with model Bre Tiesi.
He began his happy announcement by joking that he was “starting his own football team.” He also referenced Rihanna’s pregnancy announcement earlier that day, hilariously saying:
“My girl, Rihanna, is pregnant and it’s not mine.”
Nick then shared a photo from his and Bre’s gender reveal, and joyfully declared:
“It’s a boy! We found out yesterday.
Everyone knows I have a lot of children. It’s never a competition. Each one is special.”
He opened up on how all the negative attention surrounding his fathering many children has had an effect on him, particularly those who say he is irresponsible or careless:
“I have been seeking therapy.”
He went on to address his vow of celibacy late last year, saying that he in fact did take one — but that Bre was already with child by that point. Nick shared that he is no longer celibate but that he made it nearly to New Year’s without sex.
Bre is close to 20 weeks pregnant. Nick went to a white board and began brainstorming names, which include: Miracle, Purpose, Chosen, Immaculate, and Confetti.
Nick’s announcement comes days after photos of his and Bre’s baby shower and gender reveal in Malibu made the rounds on the internet. This is Bre’s first child. She divorced ex-NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel in November 2021.
This is Nick’s eighth child. He is father to 10-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He shares Golden “Sagon”, 4, and Powerful Queen, 13 months, with Brittany Bell, and twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 7 months, with Abby De La Rosa. He and Alyssa Scott welcomed his seventh child last year, a baby boy named Zen, who sadly passed away at 5 months old in December due to brain cancer.
On the show, Nick revealed that he found out that Bre was pregnant prior to Zen’s passing. He stated that he wanted to be respectful to Alyssa’s grieving which is the reason why he opted to wait before sharing the news.
In the past, Nick has been very candid about expanding his family:
“Think about it, you can’t be like, ‘No, I’m done.’ Like what if God says, ‘No you not.’
I come from a big family, I have several siblings, being raised in an unorthodox family by my grandparents at times, I’ve experienced such a wide range of upbringing that I have such a love and passion for kids and family.
I want a big family too. The Lord has blessed me with what I asked, but ask and you shall receive.
But I’m not sitting out here planning it. My therapist says I should be celibate.”
Congratulations, Nick and Bre!
