Get ready for a Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Covey reunion – because Noah Centineo and Lana Condor are beginning to work on the highly anticipated To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel!
On Monday (March 18), Noah broke the news on Twitter, writing, “TATB2 here we come.” He tagged LAX as his location. Where he’s flying off to has yet to be revealed, but wherever it is, it looks like Lana’s going to meet him there.
Lana retweeted her TABILB co-star’s message, adding “I can’t wait to see ya.”
And if that’s not proof enough, Netflix also confirmed “IT IS HAPPENING” on Instagram, sharing a screen shot of Noah and Lana’s tweets and tagging @toalltheboysnetflix.
Last December, fans of the first movie had their Christmas wish come true when the film’s breakout stars announced that the sequel was officially official.
In a cute little skit, Lana and Noah shared the news with fans.
“I am so excited it is officially official,” Lana said in the video. “We are making the To All The Boys sequel.”
“Bring on the sequel,” a pumped-up Noah seconded. “We are so excited.”
Based on Jenny Han’s best-selling book, TATBILB is the first in the trilogy about a girl named Lara Jean Covey who wrote five secret love letters for every boy she’s ever loved. It was supposed to be just for her eyes only – until they all got mysteriously mailed out.
So, what’s the sequel going to be about? In the second book, P.S. I Love You, a character named John Ambrose (who was one of the recipients of Lara Jean’s love letters) re-enters the story. And, guys, there’s going to be a love triangle going on. It also reveals Noah and John Ambrose’s backstory.
Now, the biggest mystery for this upcoming sequel is…Who’s playing John Ambrose?
In the first movie, John Ambrose made a silent cameo at the end. The character was played by Jordan Burtchett. But, so far, there’s been no word on whether he’ll be back to reprise his role or not. And there’s been no casting news on the role either.
In an interview last month, Lana revealed that even she doesn’t know who will be playing her character’s new potential love interest.
“I don’t know who’s going to play John Ambrose,” she told Cosmopolitan. “But I do know that we’re looking long and hard into someone who can match Noah’s charm and amazingness, which is very difficult…Whoever we bring in is going to do a great job and I think people are going to be very conflicted.”
And when a fan asked Noah who will play John Amrbose on Twitter, he replied, “I have no idea” with a matching crying emoji.
Oh, the mystery!
In other Noah news…
Aside from TATBILB 2, Noah has a number of exciting roles coming up! We’ll see him next in The Perfect Date alongside Camila Mendes and Laura Marano. Then, he’ll be on the big screen in Charlie’s Angels reboot alongside a new generation of angels – Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.
But we might be seeing him in another, *ahem*, more shirtless role – Noah is reportedly in talks to be cast as He-Man in Masters Of the Universe.
According to ET, the Sierra Burgess Is A Loser star is in discussions to play the lead role in the movie – the warrior He-Man and his alter ego Prince Adam.
The film, which will be written and directed by brothers Adam and Aaron Nee, is based on a Mattel (makers of Barbie) toy line from the 80s, which also had a successful animated TV series at the time. Mattel Films is in active development with Sony Pictures on the project.
So far, the studios had no comment on these reports.
