Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom may be on the brink of going their separate ways—again.

The couple first got together in 2016, split for all of 2017 (as Perry revealed on a 2024 episode of Call Her Daddy), then rekindled their romance and got engaged in 2019. They welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, that same year, though they never made it down the aisle. Now, nearly ten years since they met, breakup rumors are swirling once more—and Jeff Bezos’s ultra-lavish wedding might have something to do with it.

Speculation started heating up on June 9, when People reported that the lukewarm reception to Perry’s new album 143 and disappointing reviews from her Lifetimes Tour had created stress in the relationship. “Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” a source told the outlet. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”

The next day, Page Six escalated the conversation, claiming the breakup was imminent. “It’s over,” one source said. “They are waiting ’til her tour is over before they split.”

One major source of tension? Perry’s planned spaceflight with Blue Origin. According to The Sun on June 12, “From day one, Orlando didn’t think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash.” The source added, “He always thought it was a stupid idea and she wouldn’t get anything positive out of it.”

However, by June 21, The Sun seemed to walk things back. “No one has decided it’s definitely the end of the road for Katy and Orlando,” a source said, while noting that “make-or-break talks” were definitely happening.

Still, Perry continues to tour, and Bloom recently traveled to Australia with daughter Daisy to visit her, per Page Six. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reported on June 23 that Perry is renting out her Montecito mansion—the same one she fought to buy in court from an 85-year-old veteran. “The arrangement suits Chris [Pratt] but it’s a bit of a surprise given how Katy fought tooth and nail to get her hands on the house,” a source said. “She previously suggested it was the ideal place for her and Orlando to raise a family.”

Adding to the rumors: Bloom is expected to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding solo. While Perry made time for Sánchez’s Paris bachelorette bash, she reportedly won’t be at the wedding itself. Bloom, on the other hand, is gearing up to party. TMZ wrote, “Orlando Bloom Coming in Hot & Single for Bezos/Sánchez Wedding!!!” A source even told the outlet, “He’s the life of the party and he’s gonna hit the dance floor hard!”

“They make it sound like confirmation,” one fan noted. “But then again, Katy has always been able to perform through heartbreak. Just watch Part of Me.”

Neither Perry nor Bloom has commented publicly. But Bloom’s latest campaign with Drew Barrymore for a cruise company? Yeah, fans are calling it peak “divorced energy.”
