Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily are sharing updates on their fellow Avengers star Jeremy Renner’s recovery.
Jeremy, who plays Hawkeye in the MCU, has been recovering after breaking more than 30 bones in a snowplow accident on New Year’s day.
Both Paul, who plays Ant-Man, and Evangeline, who plays The Wasp, have checked in on Jeremy and are now giving fans some details on his recovery.
Paul told ET at the LA premiere of his new film, Ant-Man and the Wasp that he has “talked to [Jeremy] yesterday. He said:
“He’s doing alright. He’s doing well.
He’s the best guy and he’s awesome.”
Paul and Jeremy have co-starred in Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War.
Paul’s Antman and the Wasp co-star Evangeline likewise spoke about Jeremy in a recent conversation with Access Hollywood:
“I walked in his house and got chicken skin because I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening.’ I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand, while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move.
[But] he was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends.”
She went on to say:
“It’s a miracle. It’s a straight up miracle. He is, he’s made of something really tough, that guy. And, you know, you’ve always been able to see that in him and he is recovering incredibly.”
The actress also reflected on what happened to Jeremy, remarking:
“I mean, he had a near death experience that was highly traumatic, and he was awake for the whole thing.
I’m still having moments where some of the stuff he told me that he experienced and retelling me the story of what went on and the things he could hear and the things that he could see.”
And she said this about his recovery:
“He’s got a journey to go through now. That’s like what nightmares are made out of, and he lived through it. And he’s on the other side now.”
