Priyanka Chopra is not all that impressed by Rosie O’Donnell’s public apology to her.
The 39-year-old actress has issued a response following Rosie’s public apology for an encounter that they had a few days ago.
The 59-year-old former talk show host took to social media earlier in the week to recount an awkward and embarrassing mishap she had when she met Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas at Nobu in Malibu.
Rosie revealed that she had told Priyanka she knew her dad, because she assumed it to be Deepak Chopra. Priyanka’s father is actually Ashok Chopra, who passed away in 2013.
Rosie stated that she was “so embarrassed” by what happened and she asked fans if she was “the only one who thought” Deepak was Priyanka’s father.
She noted that Priyanka “wasn’t rude, it was just awkward” and declared:
“I’m sure she gets sick of that. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
I just want to apologize to her and to everyone who thought it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry.
Sometime I f**k up. I did at Nobu.”
Rosie’s gesture did not sit well with Priyanka. The new mom took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday (February 23) to respond. She wrote:
“Hi everyone. Some thoughts…
I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly.
We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as “someone” or “wife” especially in a sincere apology.
If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in, will be amazing.
Also PS – As I’ve said before, not all Chopra’s are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smith’s are related to the legendary Will Smith.”
Rosie has yet to respond.
