Quavo has broken his silence on Takeoff’s death.

The Migos rapper penned a touching tribute to his late nephew and fellow Migos rapper on Instagram, in his first public statement since Takeoff passed away.

He wrote the heartfelt letter to Takeoff one day after fans and celebrities gathered at the late Migos rapper’s Celebration of Life service which was held in Atlanta.

Quavo began by saying:

“It’s so hard to tell you Ima miss you because you [were] always with me and we did everything together.”

He then reminisced on all the memories they shared, recalling how they were tag team partners when they fell in love with wrestling. He also spoke about Takeoff’s soft demeanor, saying:

“Nothing ever really bothered Take and he didn’t bother anybody. He the most unbothered person in the world. He never go mad, he never raised his voice, and when he did, he silenced the room because what Take said was law and he wasn’t changing his mind.”

Quavo shared that he struggled to capture with words what Takeoff meant to him. The two were close like brothers, but calling him brother did not sound right to Quavo because Take was his nephew. Then it finally hit him:

“This whole time I’ve been trying to figure what you really are to me because nephew wasn’t it. We hated that word ’nephew’ or when they said ‘Unc and Phew’ cuz we always knew we were closer than that and it made me feel old too. But I knew you weren’t my brother cuz you are my sister’s son, so I couldn’t say brother.

Now I finally get it… you are OUR angel.”

Takeoff passed away on November 1 in Houston after being fatally shot at a bowling alley. Quavo was with him at the time of his death, but he was not injured during the tragic incident.
