The 40-year-old O.C. actress and 44-year-old SNL alum were rumored to have been in a relationship since 2019. They even attended the 2020 Golden Globes together. But they never publicly talked about their relationship or acknowledged it publicly – until now.
During a new episode of her Broad Ideas podcast, Rachel chatted with fellow actress Aubrey Plaza, officially confirming in their conversation that she and Bill were together “two years ago.”
Aubrey seemed surprised, responding to her revelation with:
“Are you serious? I don’t know s—t. I don’t know anything.”
Rachel then stated:
“We dated. I went with him to the f—king Golden Globes.”
Rachel and Bill were first seen together in the latter part of 2019. In July 2020, insiders revealed that the pair had ended things and that Rachel was “absolutely devastated.”
While Rachel did not divulge any other details with Aubrey about her and Bill, she did touch on a “really hard breakup” in a previous episode of her podcast while talking with guest Mandy Moore. She shared to Mandy:
“[I] went through a really hard breakup and it was during the pandemic.
I could not leave my house, you know what I mean? I had nothing else to do but sit in it, and deal with it and feel it.
It was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, harder than childbirth.”
Rachel declared that this particular breakup with the unnamed ex-boyfriend “hurt like a mother—ker.”
She did go on to share that she was able to move forward:
“If you actually face it, you can come out or it and be oike, ‘OK, I did that and I’m ready for the next thing.”
Rachel, who shares a 7-year-old daughter with ex Hayden Christensen, was spotted packing on the PDA with a new beau last month. Bill is said to have been dating Anna Kendrick very quietly for at least a year now.
