Ricky Martin is going through some legal troubles.

The 50-year-old entertainer is facing allegations in a domestic abuse restraining order that was fired in Puerto Rico.

On Friday (July 1), authorities attempted to issue Ricky a restraining order following a complaint that was made under Law 54. Law 54 is also known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act, according to the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.

Reportedly, the singer’s husband Jwan Yosef is not the one who filed the restraining order. The alleged victim’s identity has not been disclosed to the public, nor the circumstances leading to the filing.

When the police reached the upscale neighborhood where Ricky resides, they were not able to find him. Police spokesperson Axel Valencia said in a statement:

“Up until now, police haven’t been able to find him.”

He went on to say that the restraining order hinders Ricky from contacting the person who filed the complaint. A judge will decide later on if the order should stay in place.

Ricky’s representatives then released a statement denying the allegations of domestic abuse:

“The allegations against Ricky Martin that led to a protection order are completely false and fabricated.

We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”
