Ricky Martin is facing a lawsuit from his ex-manager — and she is making some shocking claims about the singer!
His former manager Rebecca Drucker is suing him for $3 million. She was his manager two separate times — first in 2014 to 2018 and then again from 2022 to 2022.
In legal documents, she is claiming that his “personal and professional life [were] in absolute turmoil.”
The complaint was filed with the Los Angeles Central District Court, citing that Rebecca helped to facilitate “recording contracts, touring and sponsorship deals, and other professional endeavors. With Rebecca at his side, Martin made millions of dollars and therefore owes Rebecca substantial commissions.”
Rebecca also alleges in the documents that in September 2020, Ricky was threatened with a “potentially career-ending allegation.” She claims he “[emerged] unscathed and [proceeded] with his professional resurgence” because of her. The suit alleges:
“After reading the legal letter, Martin collapsed. He expressed extreme fear to Rebecca that if this threat were carried out, the consequences to Martin would be catastrophic.”
The papers went on to claim:
“[Rebecca] saved Ricky Martin’s career from the consequences of his reckless indiscretions. Rebecca did so not only because she was his manager, but also because she thought that Martin was her dear friend.”
And the suit also states that Rebecca is not getting the compensation she deserves for everything:
“Although Martin’s career flourished since he re-hired Rebecca as his manager in May 2020, she was forced to deal with a litany of Martin’s personal issues, such as problems with the nanny he hired to care for his children, Martin’s nonpayment of taxes, and his substance abuse, among other issues.”
She also declares that after her resignation, she feels he has “now threatened her to stay silent with an NDA. She refused.
