Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s romance is reportedly heating up – as in, he spent Christmas with her family. In Barbados.
According to People, Rihanna left for home island earlier – but A$AP flew in days later, arriving in time for the holidays and, apparently, a sunset cruise as well.
“The couple, who wore face masks, was spotted spending Christmas Eve together as they were on their way to a Catamaran sunset cruise while vacationing in her native Barbados,” the outlet reports.
A source told the publication that “Rihanna has been in Barbados since [last] Thursday … A$AP joined her and they are spending Christmas together with Rihanna’s family.”
Rih and A$AP Rocky have been pals for a while, and they’ve hung out loads of times – just last year, they were both in Paris for Fashion Week in June, then he attended her Diamond Ball in September, and they even walked the red carpet together at The Fashion Awards in London in December. The couple started sparking romance rumors in January of this year – following news of her split with ex-boyfriend Hassan Jameel.
Fans also couldn’t help but notice sparks flying when A$AP Rocky starred in a campaign for Rih’s skincare line, Fenty Skin, and they did a bunch of press together in July.
10 months since they started sparking dating speculations and the romance rumors are showing no signs of cooling down.
Last month, Page Six reports that the 32-year-old “Diamonds” singer and the 32-year-old rapper were spotted having dinner over the weekend. The two hit up the Beatrice Inn in New York City with some friends.
A source also tells Entertainment Tonight, the two of them spending Christmas with her family was an “obvious step” in their relationship.
“Spending Christmas together was an obvious step for Rihanna and A$AP,” the source shares. “They’ve known each other for so long as friends and in a work setting, which makes it so easy for them to get along, travel together and be involved in each other’s lives to the full extent. They always have such a good time together and definitely seem in love.”
Apparently, their island roots also fueled their connection – Rih was born and raised in Barbados and A$AP’s dad is also from the island.
“Rihanna relates to A$AP and it feels natural, easy and fun. She feels very comfortable around him since they’ve known each other for such a long time and also feels a connection to him because his dad is from Barbados,” another source told the outlet.
Plus, a source spoke to People about how Rih and A$AP are totally into each other, saying, “They’ve been inseparable the past few weeks. It’s a new relationship, but they both seem very into it. They’ve always seemed to have a great time together. They have a lot in common.”
“They both are very much about helping out in the communities where they grew up A$AP is generous, and so is Rihanna. A$AP is known for being a great guy. Rihanna seems very happy dating A$AP,” the source continued.
