Actor Ryan Grantham has plead guilty to murdering his own mother – and he has also revealed that he planned to kill Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as well.
The shocking reveal was made during his sentencing this week in court.
Ryan, who is around 24 years old, plead guilty earlier in the year to second-degree murder for the death of his mom Barbara Waite.
On March 31, 2020, he allegedly took his mother’s life by shooting her in the head as she was playing the piano. He reportedly took videos and even rehearsed the murder. He also confessed what he did on camera while showing the deceased body of his mom.
After he shot and killed his mom, Ryan allegedly packed his vehicle with many guns and ammunition, 12 Molotov cocktails, camping supplies and a map with directions heading to Rideau Cottage, which is Justin Trudeau’s residence.
He never made it to his planned destination – he turned himself in to the police instead.
His sister is said to have found their mom’s body on April 1, 2020. Reportedly, he was “experiencing urges to commit violence and kill himself, along with escalating feelings of self-hatred and guild over his mother, potentially learning he had stopped attending classes at Simon Fraser University.”
Ryan appeared in a 2019 episode of Riverdale as Jeffery Augustine, who killed the dad of Archie Andrews on the show. He also had roles in other CW shows iZombie and Supernatural. He appeared in 2009’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and 2010’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
