Robert Pattinson gave fans a rare glimpse into his personal life during a recent interview with The New York Times, opening up about his relationship with fiancée Suki Waterhouse, his journey into fatherhood, and thoughts on his Hollywood career.
The Batman actor, 38, shared the story of how he and Suki first connected in 2018 at a house party, where they bonded over a party game. “Suki and I kept making each other laugh, to the point where someone told us we weren’t taking the game seriously enough. That was a very sweet moment,” he recalled. What started as a playful connection has since grown into a deeply committed relationship.
In March 2024, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter. Reflecting on becoming a father, Robert admitted he had some initial fears, even considering buying a gun to protect his unborn child. But those feelings shifted once she was born. “But then she comes out, and she’s just a little potato who poos,” he said with humour, noting that he has found stability in the “permanence of fatherhood.”
Robert also reflected on his unexpected longevity in Hollywood, a career he never thought would last so long. “Not in a million years did I think I’d still be doing this when I got my first job,” he said. “I can’t believe this is still going.”
Looking ahead, the actor hinted at an eventual retirement, suggesting his time in the industry might be winding down after the release of Batman II in 2026. “I could genuinely be retiring by the end of then,” he teased.
While the future may hold a quieter life for Robert, his reflections on fatherhood and his enduring career highlight a man at a pivotal moment—balancing the permanence of family with the transience of Hollywood.
